Japanese clothing maker to sell Michael Jackson brand clothes.

GIFU, Japan, July 30 Kyodo

Japanese clothing maker Wakita Co. has signed an agreement with a trademark agent of pop singer Michael Jackson to manufacture and sell men's clothing carrying the Michael Jackson brand via men's clothing stores across Japan, Wakita officials said Wednesday.

Under the accord signed in April with MJ Marketing Pte. Ltd. based in Singapore, Wakita will start marketing men's suits and jackets under the Michael Jackson brand from next spring, the officials said.

In its marketing, Wakita will use photographs of Michael Jackson as well as his logo, with the sales goal for the initial year of marketing set at 1.5 billion yen, they said.

The officials said Wakita will secure Jackson's permission to use his brand for each of the clothing products it creates for sale under the brand.
