Japan,Saudi Arabia,United States,Vietnam : HN?I still to start the sale of live poultry in the overseas market.

The Saudi Arabian Environment, Water and Agriculture Ministry on Sunday has enforced temporary ban on the imports of live birds, hatching eggs and chicks from the Vietnamese market over bird flu concerns.

Following this, an official of the Department of Animal Health in the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry of Vi?t Nam revealed today, "Vi?t Nam has not exported live poultry to any country yet so that a ban by Saudi Arabi has no effect on Vi?t Nam".

As of now, just one company from Vi?t Nam has been planning to export processed chicken to Japan.

According to the official, this Vietnamese firm has set up a chicken slaughtering and processing facility in the countrys southern province of ??ng Nai.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Department of Animal and Plant Quarantine of Saudi Arabia Osama Bin Abdullah Al-Saleh has disclosed that the Kingdom has imposed the import ban in response to the World Organisation for Animal Healths (WOAH) issuance of bird flu warning in Vi?t Nam.

The Saudi Arabian official has further stated that the ban will be continued as a number of cases of avian flu have been discovered in Vi?t Nam and added that the suspension will be removed only after the complete elimination of the bug.

It can be recalled that the Saudi Arabian Ministry on 26th of last month issued similar suspension order on the imports of live poultry, hatching eggs and chicks from Tennessee in the United States following detection of a type of extremely lethal bird flu there.

The Ministry has decided to impose ban in response to the WOAHs warning and it will resume the imports of live poultry, hatching eggs and chicks from Tennessee after the US State becomes disease free.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture last month revealed that the H7N9 flu had infected two groups of chicken in the area.
