Japan,Russian Federation : JBIC in Yakutia is interested in the project of transfer of transport to gas.
The Japanese bank for international cooperation (JBIC) is interested in Yakutia as a project for transferring gasoline engines to the gas engine, the Minister of Investment Development of Yakutia Anton Safronov reports on his official website, Yakutia 24 television channel reported.
"Today we held several meetings with the curators and stakeholders of those projects that, in our estimation, can be financially supported by JBIC. One of these projects could be the project of transferring vehicles to gasoline fuel, "Safronov said.
The representative of JBIC, the head of the Department for Financing Infrastructure Projects, Mr. Manabu Kato, who arrived in Yakutsk on a working visit, noted the importance of the project for the transfer of motor vehicles from a social point of view. As an investor, he also sees a good outlook.
Safronov noted that the JBIC department has mechanisms of interaction worked out by the example of Sojitz Corporation, as well as experience of direct investments into the private sector of Russia.
Mr. Kato previously headed the JBIC office for Russia and CIS countries. Anton Safronov said that the visit of the representative of JBIC is a logical continuation of the meetings and arrangements between MIRiP and the Japanese bank, which began in April last year.
"The last time we saw each other on February 15 this year at the sites of the Sochi Investment Forum and agreed that Mr. Kato will come to us for a detailed acquaintance with our projects," the minister said.
To date, there are 108 buses in the park of Yakutsk passenger transportation company (YAPAK), of which 57 are converted to compressed natural gas (methane), 20 - to liquefied hydrocarbon gas (propane-butane mixture). In addition, on a daily basis, individual entrepreneurs working on the city's route network leave the line, there are more than 600 of them today. At the same time, 450 private buses have switched to gasoline fuel. Director of the motor depot of the government Gavril Fedorov said that in their park 197 units of equipment and the leadership of the republic set the task by 2020 to transfer all cars to gas.
Safronov concluded that JBIC's investments in the project contribute to achieving significant savings, which ultimately affect not only the budgetary burden, but also the tariffs for passenger and freight traffic.
