Japan's all-female Takarazuka troupe set to perform in China.

OSAKA, Sept. 10 Kyodo

Members of Japan's popular all-female opera troupe Takarazuka Revue Company left Japan on Tuesday for China to perform in three cities as part of commemorative activities marking the 30th anniversary of the normalization of bilateral ties.

Ahead of their departure from Kansai International Airport, Koju Tatsuki, one of the 51 troupe members to travel to China, said she hopes they can treat China to a great performance without any hitches.

The troupe will give 15 performances from Friday to Oct. 2 in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, according to organizers.

They are scheduled to perform a dance show titled ''Southern Cross Revue in China'' as well as a dance drama titled ''Die Lian (Butterfly Love)'' based on a famous Chinese tale and traditional Japanese kabuki, the organizers said.

The troupe is traveling to China in response to a request from the Japanese and Chinese governments. It will be its second tour of the country after a debut tour in 1999.

Japan and China have launched this year a series of events, dubbed ''Japan Year'' events in China and ''China Year'' events in Japan, in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of normalization of bilateral ties between the two countries.
