Jailed for attacking partner twice.

A MAN has been jailed for 15 months for assaulting his partner on two occasions when she challenged him about contacting other women via Facebook.

The judge, Mr Recorder John Philpotts, told Martin William Jones, 25, of Min y Ddol, Maesgeirchen, Bangor, that he thought he had detected in his attitude a seriously bad view of women.

He had shown himself in the past to be well capable of attacking women. But he was prepared to accept belatedly that Jones was now remorseful for what he had done.

Jones denied the assaults during an earlier trial but was convicted by a jury at Caernarfon Crown Court.

Sentencing him at Mold Crown Court, the judge said that on April 2 this year his partner discovered that he had been looking at photographs of other women.

"She telephoned you to speak about that, within a short time you turned up at her place in a rage, and punched her several times."

When her mother went to protect her daughter, she was assaulted as well.

He damaged her car before leaving the premises.

A week later he arrived at her home drunk, demanded money, and it said that he would drive away under the influence of drink.

He claimed that it would be her fault if he killed or injured someone else.

She woke up in the early hours, found that he had been in contact with other females via Facebook , but when she took it up with him, he attacked her again.

The judge said he had been convicted after trial but now accepted culpability and was belatedly remorseful.
