Jacobs Receives London Borough of Havering Contracts.

PASADENA, Calif., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that it received two important term contracts to partner with the in-house teams of the London Borough of Havering to deliver highways and building programs.

The two contracts, which will run in parallel for up to 10 years with an opportunity for extension, will begin in January 2008. The value is not determined, but is estimated to be from pounds sterling 12 million and pounds sterling 20 million over the ten-year period.

Havering is a large outer-London borough, the second biggest by area, with a population of almost a quarter of a million people. Stretching eastward from the fringes of Docklands to the green belt in the Essex countryside, it has a three-mile river frontage on the Thames Estuary.

With such variety within its boundaries, the Borough faces many challenges in sustainable transport and the upkeep of its property assets -- particularly schools, regeneration, and economic development -- and has exciting plans to maintain and improve the quality of life in Havering.

Similar to its contract with North Yorkshire, Jacobs will add value to the Borough by using an integrated approach to performing the two contracts, with a strong emphasis on co-location with Havering's teams. Mobilization is already starting with some priority projects coming forward for early action.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Michael Higgins said, "We are delighted to be appointed to work with Havering on two critical service areas where our wide experience adds value to the Borough's own teams and produces integrated delivery to the local communities. This award further strengthens our position in London's public service sector."

Councillor Paul Rochford, Havering's Lead Member for Environmental & Technical Services confirmed, "The London Borough of Havering is pleased to award these contracts to a company of Jacobs calibre and we look forward to them working alongside our own staff to deliver high quality, cost-effective technical services for the benefit of our residents over the coming years."

Jacobs, with over 52,000 employees and revenues exceeding $8.0 billion, provides technical, professional, and construction services globally.
