Jack Perry named president and chief executive officer of Decisionmark Corp.
In announcing the appointment, Joe Hladky, president of The Gazette Company which is the parent of Decisionmark, said, "Jack possesses impressive skill sets in three critical areas: direct marketing, software development and entrepreneurial management. His experience and expertise in these fields will be invaluable as we take Decisionmark to the next level."
Commenting on his move to Decisionmark, Perry said, "My goal for the company is to build on our current foundation and successes to spur continued growth. I have tremendous confidence in the abilities of the Decisionmark staff. They are a bright, energetic and talented team ready to take the company beyond its entrepreneurial stage."
To take the company to the next level, Perry is establishing some aggressive goals in the areas of direct marketing, product development and customer service.
Perry plans to expand the company's current direct marketing campaign to reach new markets which can benefit from Decisionmark's products and services.
Perry also expects that Decisionmark will introduce new products within the next three months to meet the needs of multiple types of customers. Perry wants to focus on three levels of customers in the future -- high-end database users requiring extensive data and sophisticated analytical tools, everyday marketing professionals who don't have time to spend learning complex programs and users requiring less sophisticated data.
To become the industry leader in superior customer service, Perry plans to develop cross-functional teams which leverage the diverse skills of Decisionmark's employees. He explained, "We will be able to provide a value-added service to our customers by having representatives on the phone who have both direct marketing knowledge and technical expertise. With this combination of skills, we can help customers through all phases of marketing -- from research to execution."
Further commenting on his plans for taking Decisionmark to the next level, Perry said, "I believe that with an intensified focus on the customer and an emphasis on product development, we can become one of the best software companies in the world."
Prior to joining Decisionmark, Perry served as president and chief executive officer of Spanning Tree Technology. Before that he was vice president and chief operating officer at Interactive Resources Inc. where he managed the development, sales and marketing areas. Perry began his direct marketing career as the director of Direct Marketing at Parsons Technology, a manufacturer of consumer productivity software products. While at Parsons, Perry helped build their direct marketing campaign which grew to several million dollars in sales during his tenure.
Perry holds a B.S. degree in Business and Communications from the University of Iowa.
Perry will work in Decisionmark's Cedar Rapids headquarters. He lives in Cedar Rapids with his wife and their two daughters.
