Jabber MomentIM 5.2.1 Provides Enhanced Features for End-Users.

Upgrades Add Advanced File Transfer and Branding Enhancements

DENVER -- Jabber, Inc. today announced the general availability of Jabber MomentIM[TM] 5.2.1. Jabber MomentIM is an AOL[R] certified client providing interoperability with AOL Instant Messenger[TM] (AIM[R]), Google[TM] Talk, and other instant messaging (IM) clients and introduces new features that utilize Jabber MomentIM's flexible COM-based plug-in architecture.

Jabber MomentIM product upgrades include:

* Advanced File Transfer (AFT). Developed as a plug-in, this feature enables file transfer between Jabber MomentIM and Jabber Messenger[TM], Jabber's legacy client, for customers who want to run in a mixed client environment. AFT also allows users to post files to one-to-one or group chats for others to download. When users join a group chat room they are notified of any new files available for download and can view the file information in the room history. With AFT, files are stored on the server prior to being transferred to the recipient client. While on the server, the files can be scanned and transmissions blocked if rogue content such as viruses, inappropriate language, or proprietary information is detected. A file transfer manager has also been implemented to help users manage files.

* Branding enhancements. Advanced client customization such as adding login notifications for higher end-user security.

* Microsoft Vista operating system support, in addition to Windows XP.

* X.509 certificate-based authentication requiring no additional end-user credentials.

"Advance file transfer is a critical feature for end-users in the federal government," said Dave Uhlir, vice president of products and services at Jabber, Inc. "Government employees rely on the ability to securely transfer files in one-to-one and group chat messaging environments in order to speed the exchange of time-sensitive information while retaining and tracking message and file transfer histories for future reference."
