Accompanied by his wife and supporters, Senator JV Ejercito marched towards the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) headquarters on Monday with one goal in mind: to win again as senator in the 2019 polls.
"That is the least of my concern. I am here to win," Ejercito told Manila Bulletin when asked about his political differences with half-brother Jinggoy Estrada, who is also seeking a return to the Senate.
Ejercito will be running under the Nationalist Peoples' Coalition (NPC) after leaving Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), a party formed and led by his father former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.
The lawmaker cited differences in principles with some members in the party as his reason why he left.
The half brothers' differences started when Ejercito signed a Senate committee report on the misuse of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) against Estrada in 2014.
Estrada was jailed for three years.
He was allowed to post bail last September 2017.
