JUSTICE FOR HOLLY & JESSICA: Carr may be out in 30 days.

MAXINE Carr could be released from jail in just 30 days.

She will be allowed to apply for the Home Secretary's electronic tagging scheme which allows model inmates out up to 135 days early.

Even without this concession, her automatic release date would be in just five months, around Monday, May 17.

But it was revealed yesterday that she could face a further jail term over systematic benefit fraud she is alleged to have carried out with killer Ian Huntley.

Detectives decided to wait until the end of the murder trial before bringing charges.

Carr allegedly claimed housing, employment and sickness payments while living in Grimsby.

Yesterday, Carr's mother, Shirley Capp, who still lives in the town, discovered her daughter's fate while out shopping.

She received the news of the trial on her mobile phone. When told of the verdicts, she said: ``We were expecting that.''

SuspectShe refused to discuss the case further and switched off her phone.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed Carr provided Huntley with an alibi when he was questioned as a rape suspect in July 1999.

He was quizzed by police in Grimsby in a rape case before the pair moved to Soham.

Huntley hadpreviouslybeenquestionedover three other rapes and had served time on remand in one case. That charge was dropped when CCTV evidence seemed to clear him.

Huntley was brought in for interview by Grimsby police because the complaint seemed to match the earlier incidents.

Carr told police Huntley was with her at the time the sex attack took place. The couple had only met five months earlier.

On this occasion, the accusation against Huntley was quickly dropped the victim was unable to identify him as her attacker.

A police source said: ``By the time Maxine arrived in Soham, she was well rehearsed.''

In another twist, Carr was said to be living on a diet of supermarket ready meals in jail because she fears being poisoned by her fellow inmates, a former con revealed yesterday.
