JUST TOYS, INC. NAMES MAURENE SOUZA AS CONSULTANT IN MARKETING, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND SPECIAL PROJECT AREAS

 NEW YORK, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Maurene Souza a twenty year toy industry veteran with extensive experience in the girls' product area, has signed an exclusive consulting agreement with Just Toys (NASDAQ: JUST), it was announced by Allan Rigberg, CEO and founder.
 As consultant, Souza will assist in marketing and product development of all lines as well as spearhead special projects. Souza has worked with Just Toys since 1992.
 "Maurene Souza brings broad based, big company thinking and experience to Just Toys," said Rigberg. "This perspective adds an exciting and needed dimension to our approach and strategic plans for the future."
 Souza will continue to work under the auspices of Maurene & Co., the Rhode Island-based marketing and product development company she founded in 1991.
 Prior to opening Maurene & Co., Souza was vice president of marketing at Tyco Toys and instrumental in the development of a multi- branded girls' product line including Little Mermaid, Quints and Magic Bottle Baby.
 Souza began her career in the toy industry as a copy writer at Hasbro in 1973; she was vice president of Marketing for Girls Toys when she left the company in 1989 to join Tyco. She joined the marketing department in 1978 as an assistant product manager on girls business and was named preschool product manager in 1979.
 Souza was promoted to marketing director in 1981 and was responsible for the launch of industry giant, My Little Pony. She was named associate vice president in 1984, the first woman to hold that title at Hasbro.
 During her 16 year tenure she was responsible for the marketing and product development of the second largest toy line for girls and launched brands such as Jem, Real Baby, Go Go My Walking Pup and Moondreamers among others.
 Recognized by "Business Month" and "Businessweek" magazines as "one of the top 50 women to watch in corporate America." Souza is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She resides with her husband in Harmony, RI.
