JUI-F clerics receive honorarium, defying party chief's directives.

KARAK -- Hundreds of clerics affiliated with the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl on Friday defied the directives of party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and reached the offices of the district administration to receive the honorarium announced by the provincial government for prayer leaders across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The assistant commissioners of the three tehsils of Karak had asked the prayer leaders of mosques to visit their offices on Friday for receiving the honorarium, after which, hundreds of ulema belonging to JUI-F, which had rejected the decision of the PTI government considering it a conspiracy against the religious clerics, reached the ACs' offices to receive the amounts.

However, JUI-F Karak president Hafiz Ibn-i-Ameen declined to get the honorarium and resolved to follow the directives of the party chief.

POLL TICKET: The Awami National Party provincial joint secretary Khursheed Khattak claimed on Friday that the party had awarded him ticket for provincial constituency of PK-40 in Karak district for the next general elections.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said he had been awarded the ticket by the party's parliamentary board.

He announced that he would start his election campaign from Karak city.
