JUBILEE RECORD: OVER 500 EXHIBITORS ARE THERE; MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR OPENS 'WORLD MARKET OF SECURITY' ESSEN, Germany, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- A round jubilee at SECURITY: This year the International Security Fair is taking place at the Essen Fair for the 10th time. SECURITY has developed into the world's most important fair event for producers and users of state of the art security technology. Jubilee record: Over 500 exhibitors from 20 countries are taking part in the 10th SECURITY which takes place from Oct. 13-16, 1992. Approximately 20 percent of the exhibitors come from abroad. Since the premiere of SECURITY, which is held every two years, the number of exhibitors has increased almost fivefold. Compared with the last SECURITY two years ago, there has been an approximately 10 percent increase in exhibitor numbers. The exhibition area also expanded accordingly and now comprises 40,000 sp.m. in nine exhibition halls. While the proportion of foreign exhibitors is a good 20 percent, the number of official group participations from abroad has increased to four: Great Britain, Canada, South Africa and Canada are presenting security know-how at collective national stands. For the first time exhibitors from Poland, Singapore and Taiwan will be present. Essen will focus on control and monitoring equipment, mechanical and electronic security technology, robbery, burglar and theft alarms and the service sector. Other important sectors are the fire alarms, smoke and gas detectors, crime and catastrophe prevention technology, data protection, special vehicles, defense equipment, personal equipment, working and protective clothing as well as planning and training. The fair management expects 33,000 visitors. More than ever before security experts from industry and works protection, from trade, wholesale and retail trade, from police, fire brigades, public authorities, from banks and finance, the guard service profession and many other industries and also security-conscious citizens, will use this opportunity to gather information on state-of-the-art security technology.
