JRC and ArrayComm Announce Technology Alliance.

JRC's Multi-Antenna Radio Products to Include Self-Calibration Verified for ArrayComm's A-MAS[TM] Processing Software

Combined Effort to Streamline Base Station Development and Deployment

TOKYO & SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Japan Radio Co. (JRC) and ArrayComm LLC, announced today a joint technology agreement for Wireless Broadband systems. Through this agreement, JRC will develop base station radio head products that deliver the maximum performance of ArrayComm's A-MAS(TM) (Multi-antenna Signal) processing software. ArrayComm and JRC will ensure that JRC's radio head products are ready for rapid integration of A-MAS with base station vendors.

"JRC is a leader in radio technology," said Steve Sifferman, President of ArrayComm. "JRC's products will now be ready with sophisticated calibration for best-in-class multi-antenna signal processing -- including beam-forming and interference cancellation for MIMO."

By this collaboration, base station manufacturers can minimize development resources and enable faster time-to-market, while delivering superior performance to carrier customers. Operators will then be able to achieve best-in-class economic results: Broadband networks with superior coverage, spectral efficiency, and data rates -- providing the best possible end-user experience.

"World leading, ArrayComm's multi-antenna processing technology is a must-have technology for wireless broadband communication evolution, and its technology has been proven in over 300,000 commercial base stations in operation today," said Tatsuro Masamura, board member and GM of R&D center of JRC. "Through this collaboration, technical hurdles for multi-antenna base station enablement are decreased. JRC will leverage the collaboration output and accelerate implementation of high performance and low cost RF units and outdoor units for multi-antenna base stations."
