JP Morgan names new head of Commodities Strategy.

Global Banking News - 01 September 2010(c)2005 - Electronic News Publishing - Morgan Chase & Co (NYSE: JPM) has hired Colin Fenton as global head of commodities strategy, Dow Jones has reported citing a company spokeswoman.

Fenton was formerly a managing partner at Curium Capital Advisors. He has also held various roles at Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: GS) in commodities research, Duquesne Capital Management and Ospraie Management.

Fenton, who joined the bank on Monday, will report to Tom Schmidt, head of global commodity research and Americas equity research. 'Given J.P. Morgan's expanded global commodities offering, we are pleased to add Colin's seasoned leadership to our talented team,' Schmidt said.

In June, JP Morgan acquired RBS Sempra Commodities' global oil, global metals, global coal and European power, gas, and non-US emissions assets.
