 RESULTS OF LAWSUIT:
JOY ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. VS. R-V INDUSTRIES
In February, 1991, Joy Environmental Technologies, Inc. instituted a lawsuit against R-V Industries, Inc. seeking the return of numerous drawings, design information, specifications, manuals, plans, blueprints and data sheets. These documents were provided to R-V as a subcontractor from 1976 to mid-1990.
Recently, Joy Environmental and R-V Industries entered into a settlement. Under its terms, R-V agreed to the entry of a court decree which required the return of the drawings, design, information, specifications and other materials. Additionally, R-V agreed that it will not directly, or indirectly, receive or obtain Joy Environmental or Allen-Sherman-Hoff documents or materials from any source unless such materials are either within the public domain, or is expressly authorized by Joy Environmental.
Joy Environmental has stated that it regards its technology and design information as highly valuable assets of the company and will take whatever action is required to safeguard these assets and maintain the integrity of its product designs.
Joy Environmental Technologies, Inc. is an international supplier of leading Air Pollution Control and Ash Handling Technologies, with corporate headquarters in Houston and offices in Monrovia, Calif.; Malvern, Pa.; and Kitchener, Ontario.

 RESULTS OF LAWSUIT:
JOY ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. VS. FLAKT, INC.
A jury in the Federal District Court in Delaware has held that a U.S. patent owned by Niro A/S, a Danish company, and licensed exclusively to Joy Technologies, Inc. in North America is valid and has been infringed by Flakt, Inc., a U.S. affiliate of ASEA Brown Boveri, Inc. (ABB). Joy brought suit on the patent, which is of major significance to the air pollution control industry and covers the recycling of lime and fly ash in dry flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, charging that Flakt was infringing the patented process in utility and cogeneration plant work.
Brian J. Watt, president of Joy Environmental Technologies, Inc., a Joy subsidiary that engineers and constructs air pollution control systems, stated: "The development of new technology is time consuming and expensive. The jury has recognized that the patent system rewards this investment by protecting the patent holder's right to the invention." Watt also stated that Joy would pursue both injunctive relief and millions of dollars in damages as a result of the jury's verdict.
Joy is a major North American supplier of air pollution control and ash handling equipment used by electrical utilities and other industrial combustion operations. The company is also the world's leading manufacturer and servicer of mining equipment for the underground extraction of coal. Niro is the world leader in the design and supply of spray dryers and supports Joy in its North American pollution control efforts.
