JOVANOVICH NAMED PRESIDENT OF MACMILLAN/MCGRAW-HILL SCHOOL PUBLISHING
 NEW YORK, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Jovanovich has been named president and chief executive officer of the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill School Publishing Company, the company announced today. He succeeds Richard T. Morgan, who recently announced that he is retiring in May. The company, jointly owned by McGraw-Hill, Inc. (NYSE: MHP), and Macmillan, Inc., is the nation's No. 1 school publisher.
 McGraw-Hill's chairman and chief executive officer, Joseph L. Dionne, who also serves as chairman of the joint venture company's board, said: "Peter Jovanovich is widely respected in publishing circles. We are pleased to have found such an able replacement for Dick Morgan. We are confident that he will build on the outstanding success already achieved by the joint venture company."
 Jovanovich has been president and chief executive officer of Harcourt Brace Jovanovich since January 1990. HBJ publishes elementary and high school text books, educational tests, college text books, scientific and medical texts and trade books.
 Jovanovich began his publishing career in 1972 in sales for Macmillan Publishing Company. He held various positions within Macmillan's college and trade divisions. In 1977, he was made a vice president of Macmillan and head of its trade division.
 In 1980, Jovanovich joined HBJ. He held positions in trade and scientific publishing, including president of Academic Press. In 1985, he became executive vice president in charge of HBJ's university and professional division, a position he held until he was named president of HBJ in 1990.
 Jovanovich and his wife, Robin, have two sons, Nicholas and William. He is a graduate of Princeton University.
 The Macmillan/McGraw-Hill School Publishing Company was formed June 30, 1989. In 1991, the company has operating revenue of $533.2 million and operating income (before amortization of intangibles and interest) of $111.1 million.
