JOSTENS TUNES UP TO SPONSOR BANDS OF AMERICA

 MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Jostens (NYSE: JOS) is drumming up support for Bands of America by serving as its official awards company for the next 18 months.
 Jostens has designed a new line of awards for Bands of America's 1993 fall championship events, including new participation awards for all bands, champion medallions, class awards, finalist and Grand National placing awards. Jostens also has redesigned the Grand National Traveling Trophy, the award presented to the winning band at the Grand National Festival Weekend Nov. 12-13 in Indianapolis.
 "We wanted unique awards that would reflect our events and the participating bands' position as some of the finest in the nation," said Bands of America's Director of Marketing Debbie Laferty. Jostens is the nation's leader in high school and college jewelry awards, yearbooks and graduation products.
 As part of its partnership, Jostens is developing a Bands of America championship ring and jewelry line for regional and grand national class champions, as well as band yearbooks for students to remember their year in band and also to use as fundraisers.
 In addition to being the official awards supplier for Bands of America, Jostens also is the organization's official printing supplier, producing numerous yearbooks for the national festivals, regional competitions and promotional brochures.
 During the 1993-94 school band year, Jostens will produce nearly 11,000 awards and 40,000 certificates for regional championships, and nearly 1,000 awards for the Grand National Festival Weekend in Indianapolis, plus more than 300 awards for the yearly National Concert Band Festival held in the spring.
 The Jostens/Bands of America agreement began June 1, 1993, and continues until Jan. 1, 1995, with an option to continue for two consecutive years if mutually agreed upon.
 Jostens has made awards for many prestigious events, teams and individuals across the country, including most valuable player trophies for Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, American League National League Championship Series and World Series; 19 Super Bowl championship rings and 21 NFL conference championship rings; and medals and ribbons for the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, six Olympic Festivals and the last three International Special Olympics Games.
 Bands of America's commitment to excellence has become the hallmark of the non-profit organization's focus on individual character building, self-discipline, leadership qualities and the fostering of America's value systems through a series of internationally acclaimed events. 1993 marks the 19th year of Bands of America's Grand National Championships, the country's premier marching band event, Nov. 12-13 at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis.
