SAN DIEGO, May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Software Publishers Association (SPA) has elected John Kernan, chairman and chief executive officer of Jostens Learning Corp., as its president for a one-year term.
As president of the SPA, Kernan said he plans to actively pursue influencing the Clinton Administration on policies affecting software technology companies. Key issues will include tax credits for research and development, the creation of new funding options to help schools purchase educational software and technology products, and others affecting suppliers and consumers of software products.
"Since Jostens Learning was founded in 1985, we've built our company from a handful of employees to more than 2,000 people and systems in more than 9,000 schools nationwide," said Kernan. "I look forward to sharing what we've learned with other members of the industry.
