JOSTENS INC. RECEIVES PROPOSAL FOR SPORTSWEAR BUSINESS

 MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Jostens Inc. (NYSE: JOS) said today it has received a proposal from the current management team of its Sportswear Division to acquire this business.
 The company's board of directors has reviewed the proposal and authorized Jostens' management to enter into negotiations with the Sportswear management team.
 Jostens announced in July that it was exploring opportunities to divest its Sportswear business to focus its efforts on the education and recognition marketplaces.
 Jostens Sportswear is an industry leader in the licensed apparel market with $76 million in sales. Its licenses include World Cup Soccer, the National Football League, National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, The Walt Disney Company, United Feature Syndicate for Peanuts(R) characters, Warner Bros. for Looney Tunes(R) cartoon characters and the World Wildlife Fund.
 Jostens, based in Minneapolis, is a leading provider of products and services for the youth, education, sports award and recognition markets. Jostens is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "JOS" and last year reported sales of $915 million.
