JOSTENS CRAFTS MINNESOTA TWINS WORLD SERIES RINGS

JOSTENS CRAFTS MINNESOTA TWINS WORLD SERIES RINGS
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Minnesota Twins and Jostens

today unveiled the team's 1991 World Series championship rings.
The ring, designed jointly by Twins' management and Charlie Anderson, Jostens' championship artist, based in Owatanna, Minn., will be presented to players during pre-game ceremonies at the Twins' second home game April 11. Jostens also produced the Twins' 1987 World Series championship rings.
The bezel (top) of the 10-karat yellow gold ring features a .75 carat diamond set in a white gold collet on a red-based garnet gemstone. Two pairs of .06 carat diamonds separate the words "Minnesota Twins" and "World Champions." The five diamonds total one carat and represent the Twins' five post-season appearances in 1965, '69, '70, '87 and '91. One shank (side) features the player's name and number, the team's 95-67 season record and the 30th anniversary family tradition Twins logo. The other shank displays the year 1991, the world championship trophy and Twins' 4-3 World Series record.
Twins management contracted with Jostens' Recognition Division to produce in excess of 100 championship rings for players, coaches, team management and staff. Jostens also will manufacture women's companion rings and pendants for the team.
"As a Minneapolis-based company, we're honored to be working with a championship team from our home state," said Nick Cookas, director of sports event marketing for Jostens' Recognition Division.
Other recent championship accounts for Jostens' Recognition Division include baseball's National League champion Atlanta Braves, NBA champion Chicago Bulls, NHL Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins, heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield, World League of American Football champion London Monarchs and the Canadian Football League champion Toronto Argonauts.
Jostens' Recognition Division, headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., is a division of the Minneapolis-based Jostens Inc., a leading provider of products and services for the youth, education, sports award and recognition markets. Jostens is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "JOS" and last year reported sales of $860 million.
