JOSE NOU IT!

Byline: NEIL MOXLEY

THERE was a theory that Jose Mourinho's behaviour -- in his final season at Manchester United -- was merely The Special One working his ticket to the exit door.

The feeling was that Mourinho realised, when he wasn't going to get his own way in the transfer market last summer, that the writing was on the wall -- that Manchester City and Liverpool were streets ahead -- and he knew it and could do nothing about it.

So he decided to engineer a way out before it became too harmful to him and his professional standing.

Following the bounce of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's arrival and the humbling in the Nou Camp, that hypothesis is gaining greater traction.
