JONES INTERCABLE TO OFFER DEBT SECURITIES ENGLEWOOD, Colo., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Jones Intercable Inc.
(NASDAQ/NMS: JOIN and JOINA) announced today it plans to offer $150 million of senior subordinated debentures due 2004. Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette will lead the underwriting group, which includes Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. and Lehman Brothers. The proceeds will be used to retire long-term debt and to acquire one or more cable television systems not yet identified.
In April, the company filed a shelf registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an offering of up to $400 million of debt securities. The new senior subordinated debentures will be part of this offering. Jones Intercable is one of the largest cable television operators in the United States, serving over one million subscribers. It is the world's largest cable television management company, managing cable operations for publicly held entities. It manages cable operations in over 20 states and three countries.
