JOHN W. ROGERS JR. ELECTED TO MORRISON KNUDSEN BOARD OF DIRECTORS; DIRECTORS DECLARE 20-CENT DIVIDEND

 BOISE, Idaho, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- John W. Rogers Jr., president of Ariel Capital Management Inc. of Chicago, was elected to the board of directors of Morrison Knudsen Corp. (MK) (NYSE: MRN) during a board meeting today in Boise, the company announced. He was elected to a class of directors who will stand for re-election by the corporation's stockholders at the annual meeting in 1995.
 Rogers founded Ariel Capital Management in 1983 and, since its inception, the institutional money-management firm has grown from two to 18 employees with more than $2 billion in assets under management.
 "John Rogers is a true American success story who has distinguished himself in business and has made significant civic contributions to his native Chicago," said William J. Agee, MK's chairman and chief executive officer. "He will be a valuable addition to the MK board."
 In other action, the board of directors declared a cash dividend of 20 cents per share, payable March 22 to stockholders of record Feb. 17.
 Rogers was named 1989 Minority Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is a director of American National Bank and Trust Co. of Chicago, Burrell Communications Group Inc. and G. Heileman Brewing Co. Inc.
 His Chicago-area civic activities include serving as a trustee or director of the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Family Focus Inc., and Larabida Children's Hospital and Research Center. He also serves as a trustee of Princeton University.
 Rogers graduated from Princeton with a degree in economics.
