JOHN ROSE TO HEAD ROLLS-ROYCE INC.
RESTON, Va., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- John E. Rose, director -- Corporate Development for Rolls-Royce plc, is to be assigned to Rolls-Royce Inc. as president and chief executive officer, effective Feb. 1. He will be based at the head office of Rolls-Royce Inc. in Reston, and succeeds John W. Sandford, who was recently appointed managing director of the Aerospace Group based in Derby, England. Rose continues as a member of the board of Rolls-Royce plc. Rose, 40, is a graduate of St. Andrew's University, Scotland, and has been a director of Rolls-Royce plc since January 1992. He joined Rolls-Royce as head of Sales Financing in 1984 following a career in banking with the First National Bank of Chicago and Security Pacific. He became corporate treasurer for Rolls-Royce in 1987 and was appointed director -- Corporate Development in 1989.
