JOHN P. ZANOTTI NAMED CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF GREAT AMERICAN COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY

 CINCINNATI, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- John P. Zanotti has been appointed chief executive officer of Great American Communications Company (NASDAQ: GACC), (GACC), the company announced today. Zanotti succeeds Carl H. Lindner, who announced last week his resignation as chairman and chief executive officer of GACC.
 Zanotti, 44, joined the company in January 1991 as president of the television group of Great American Broadcasting (GACC's operating subsidiary) and was elected president and chief operating officer of Great American Broadcasting and executive vice president and director of Great American Communications Company in March 1992.
 In the early 1980s, Zanotti served as assistant to the president, newspaper division of Gannett Co., Inc. In 1985, he became chief executive of The Cincinnati Enquirer, one of Gannett's largest newspapers. From 1990 to 1991, Zanotti was publisher and chief executive officer of the Arizona Republic/The Phoenix Gazette newspapers in Phoenix, Ariz. Before joining Gannett, Zanotti was with Harte-Hanks Communications, Inc., where he was president, direct marketing/central group during 1983 and 1984 and vice president, legal and secretary from 1980 to 1983. Prior to that, he had been associated with the law firm of O'Melveny & Myers, Los Angeles.
 Great American Communications and its subsidiaries own six network- affiliated television stations and 11 FM and six AM radio stations in major markets throughout the country.
