JOHN HOPKINS REPORT OFFERS NEW HOPE FOR SMOKERS
LYNBROOK, N.Y., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Phase Out of America today

released the following statement:
The April issue for the international medical journal "Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior" released today reports on a breakthrough smoke cessation device that reduces up to 80 percent of the nicotine and carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke.
The findings are based on clinical research by the departments of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The article "Phaseout Filter Perforation: Effects on Human Smoke Exposure," M.L. Stitzer, J. Brigham and L. Felch states: "This study showed that filter perforation achieved with the Phaseout device significantly reduced human exposure to tobacco smoke constituents when tested in an acute smoking protocol under controlled laboratory smoking conditions. Exposure reductions of 30-80 percent were observed for both nicotine and carbon monoxide."
"The use of the Phaseout filter perforation device may allow smokers to continue smoking their usual preferred brand of cigarettes while reducing their exposure to tobacco smoke constituents. This could be particularly useful as a weaning method prior to smoking cessation."
PHASEOUT is a patented, hand-held device that makes microfine perforations in the lip end of each cigarette in an unopened soft or hard pack. By the end of a suggested eight week period, the smoker is gradually detoxified without the usual withdrawal symptoms or harmful side effects. Instead of entering the smoker's mouth and lungs, the nicotine, carbon monoxide and tar remain trapped within the cigarette without noticeably affecting the taste or draw.
PHASEOUT is marketed by Phase Out of America, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: 3POUT), a public company located in Lynbrook.
