JOAN BAEZ SIGNS WITH VIRGIN RECORDS; NEW ALBUM, 'PLAY ME BACKWARDS,' SET
 FOR RELEASE OCT. 6
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin Records announced the worldwide signing of Joan Baez to the label. The album entitled "Play Me Backwards" is set for release in America on Oct. 6.
"Play Me Backwards" features a marvelous collection of songs by Baez and others -- including tunes written especially for her by such artists as Mary-Chapin Carpenter and Janis Ian. The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by Wally Wilson and Kenny Greenberg. The results are exhilarating: clearly a dramatic affirmation of Baez's continuing creativity.
Jeff Ayeroff, co-chairman of Virgin Records America, commented, "It is a pleasure for me to once again work with Joan. There are few legends in our business, and Joan is one of our most enduring. I think people will love this record -- it is quite wonderful."
