JNC adds Bico line in China.
JNC Corporation and FiberVisions Suzhou will jointly invest in a new production line for polyolefin bicomponent fibers at ES FiberVisions in Suzhou, China. The plant will make the already well-known ES Fiber, a bicomponent fiber made from two thermoplastic polymers with different melting points.
These fibers were the first bicomponent types produced successfully on a commercial scale by Chisso Corporation, JNC's parent company. When heated, these fibers are transformed into soft and bulky nonwovens without the use of adhesives. Nonwoven fabrics made of ES Fiber are widely used in hygiene products such as baby diapers, wet wipes and feminine care products.
JNC has been in a global partnership with FiberVisions through ES FiberVisions, a sales joint venture for ES fibers since 2000. In 2011, JNC and FiberVisions formed ES FiberVisions Suzhou as a manufacturing company to expand the business in the growing Chinese market. JNC and FiberVisions agreed to further expand the Suzhou plant capacity to to meet continuing strong demand from the market. ES FiberVisions will also start up a new plant in Thailand in this summer to serve customers in Thailand.
