JM AB (STO:JM), a developer of housing and residential areas in the Nordic region, announced on Tuesday that its nomination committee has resolved to propose Fredrik Persson as the new chairperson of the board of directors at the Annual General Meeting in 2017.

The company said Lars Lundquist, who has been the chairperson of the board since 2005, has declined re-election.

Persson, has had a long career at Axel Johnson AB as, among other things, CFO and subsequently president and CEO. Prior to that, Persson worked at Aros Securities and ABB Financial Services. He has also been chairperson of the board of Axfood AB, Mekonomen AB and Martin & Servera AB, as well as director of the board of AxFast AB.

Currently, Persson is chairperson of the board of Svensk Handel, deputy chairperson of the board of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and director of the board of Ahlstrom Capital OY, Electrolux and Hufvudstaden.

JM's nomination committee consists of Asa Nisell (chairperson), of Swedbank Robur Fonder; Jan Sarlvik, of Nordea Funds; Eva Gottfridsdotter-Nilsson, of Lansforsakringar Fondforvaltning; Roar Engeland, of OBOS BBL and Lars Lundquist, chairperson of the board of JM AB.
