JI urges abrogation of FCR.

PESHAWAR -- Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami FATA chapter, Sardar Khan asked federal government to abrogate the draconian law of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) in FATA and merge it into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before 2018 general elections.

Addressing a news conference in Peshawar Press Clubon Wednesday, he said that the people of FATA have been deprived of their basic rights along with legal and constitutional beside citizens of the country. He regretted and saying they had no access to supreme court and high court and every decision is being imposed upon him under black law of FCR.

He added that bureaucracy still conspiring to delay FATA reforms and block its merger into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa however he said that these conspiracies will no more work. He mentioned that there is no need of referendum as the elected parliamentarians from FATA have already approved the recommendations of the FATA reforms committee. He added that 71 percent population of the federally administered tribal areas supports FATA merger in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer also suggested immediate population census and holding of local bodies election in FATA before 2018 general elections. He said that government must amend various articles regarding name of FATA saying that name of FATA should be removed from the article one of the constitution.

He said that a grand tribal Jirga led by Jamaat Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq will be held November 11 in which all FATA elders would be invited. He also demanded amendment in article 106 and article 247 of the constitution to increase the number of seats in KP Assembly and give access to the FATA residents to supreme court and federal Shariat court.

JI leaders also demanded establishment of FATA University, FATA medical college and up-gradation of the educational institute in all tribal agencies.
