JI rejects PML-N's decision on privatization.

KARACHI -- Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has rejected the decision of PML-N government regarding the privatization of the national institutions.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, JI Karachi Chief has strongly condemned the decision taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the Council of Common Interest (CCI) meeting, in which the government decided to give the control of the electricity production and distribution companies to the private sectors.

Hafiz Naeem said that the national institutions have been reached at the verge of collapse due to the incompetency and misadministration of the previous and present governments.

JI Karachi Chief regretted that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) did not take any practical step in this regard and remains itself only on lip service. Hafiz Naeem said that the Sindh Chief Minister and the provincial government should play an effective role against the privatization of the national institutions.

He further said that the privatization of the national institutions was not the solution of the problems, but the government should take action against the corrupt administrations of the national institutions.

"It is evident that the performance of the national institutions has deteriorated further after the privatization", he added.

Hafiz Naeem further warned that the JI will launch a massive countrywide protest campaign along with the labour and trade unions against the privatization of the national institutions including PIA, PSM and others.
