 JERRY BEST NAMED PRESIDENT OF OMNI HOTELS;
 OTHER KEY MANAGEMENT CHANGES ANNOUNCED
 HAMPTON, N.H., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Omni Hotels has named Jerry Best, former president of Red Lion Hotels, as president of Omni Hotels.
 In this capacity, Best will oversee operation, management and marketing for all Omni Hotels in North America. Best's appointment, which will be effective immediately, is concurrent with a number of senior management changes that the New England-based hotel chain will be implementing to accommodate its recent and on-going asset acquisition program for suitable hotels in major markets and related network expansion through management contracts and franchising.
 A veteran of the hotel industry, Best oversaw a period of significant growth during his five years with Red Lion Hotels. His industry experience also includes 20 years with Marriott Hotels, where he held the position of executive vice president for the western United States.
 William Sheehan, president of Omni Hotels since 1988, has been named vice chairman. In his new position, Sheehan, who has also held the titles of executive vice president and chief financial officer at Omni, will oversee the company's extensive investment program, with an emphasis on augmenting sources of external capital to support the company's expansion.
 Current vice chairman and former president (until 1988) Jon Canas will retain his current title; additionally, he will serve as chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors, of which both Best and Sheehan will be members. Canas will also lead Omni's development effort.
 In announcing Best's appointment, Sheehan said, "Jerry Best's excellent

management skills, as well as his marketing and customer orientation, will have a significant and positive impact upon our on- going objective to become a leader in the upscale hotel segment of the industry, on both a national and international basis."
 Commenting on his new assignment, Best said, "This is perhaps the most exciting and challenging period in Omni's history. The enhanced capabilities of the new management team will enable us to focus even more attention on increasing owners' and customers' satisfaction."
 Since November 1991, through its shareholders support and commitment, Omni Hotels and its affiliates have acquired the former Inn on the Park in Houston, the Omni Berkshire Place in New York City, the Omni Parker House in Boston and the Marriott Mandalay at Las Colinas (Dallas). Several hotels will soon undergo major renovations, including the Omni Berkshire Place and the Omni Parker House.
 In the last few months, Omni has also signed several agreements to manage and franchise hotels in Arizona, Florida, Ohio, Texas, and Mexico. Omni Hotels will continue to enlarge and improve its product line and distribution by acquisition particularly in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco; and through management contracts and franchising agreements.
 Omni Hotels is a rapidly expanding group of first-class and luxury hotels and resorts in North America and the Far East. Some of the properties are the Omni Berkshire Place in New York, the Omni Houston Hotel (formerly the Inn on the Park), the Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans, and the Omni Marco Polo Hotels in Hong Kong and Singapore.
