JENNY CRAIG INC. RESPONDS TO FTC DECISION TO DENY PETITION

 Five Commercial Weight-Loss Companies Requested the Formulation
 of Rules to Facilitate Consumer Protection
 and Provide Greater Fairness to Industry Members
 DEL MAR, Calif., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Jenny Craig Inc. (NYSE: JC) today announced the company had received notice of the decision by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to deny a petition from five commercial weight-loss companies, including Jenny Craig, requesting the formulation of rules to facilitate consumer protection and provide greater fairness to industry members.
 The company noted that the FTC had notified it that it intends to continue with its case-by-case approach. Jenny Craig said no decision has been reached as to whether to appeal the decision. The company stated it will continue to cooperate with the commission.
