JDA Issues Profit Warning.
It now expects revenue for the quarter to December 31 to be around $55m, 3.2% up on the previous year's figure with software sales contributing $16.9m, a fall of 6.1%. JDA blamed the shortfall on a failure to close a number of deals, though it said none were lost to competitors. Regional performance was mixed with the Americas up sequentially while Europe and Asia/Pacific were down.
When it released its third-quarter figures in October, JDA said it had a strong software sales pipeline and said it expected software license and maintenance services revenue growth in the fourth quarter.
Forecasting has not been the company's strong point over the past year. First-quarter figures were lower than analysts were expecting, but second- and third-quarter results topped the expectations of Wall Street.
