JCPENNEY TO SHIFT MILWAUKEE SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT GROUP TO DALLAS
/REPEATING FROM YESTERDAY TO POINTS NEEDED/ DALLAS, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- J. C. Penney Company, Inc.
(NYSE: JCP) will move its Milwaukee systems development group to the Dallas area, where the company's home office is located, it was announced today by David V. Evans, vice president and director of information systems. The systems development group is housed in the Park Place office complex on Good Hope Road.
Some 138 associates (employees) will be affected by the move of the systems group which will take place between the Fall of 1993 and the Fall of 1994. The company said it would help identify potentially suitable career opportunities inside and outside of JCPenney for associates who do not make the move. Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Evans said, "This move will improve communications between the Milwaukee systems development group and the Dallas area-based senior management of the operating departments they serve." During the past several years, JCPenney has been restructuring its information systems network, coinciding with the continued improvements, both in speed and size, in computing and communication technologies.
