JCPENNEY REDEEMS 8-7/8 PERCENT SINKING FUND DEBENTURES DUE JULY 15, 1995
 DALLAS, March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE: JCP), has elected to redeem all of its outstanding 8-7/8 percent sinking fund debentures due July 15, 1995, on April 1, 1992, at the redemption price of 100 percent of the principal amount, together with interest accrued to the redemption date in the amount of $18.7361 per $1,000 principal amount of debentures.
 The paying agent is Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, P. O. Box 2862, GPO Station, New York City, N.Y. 10116.
