JCD to contest Ducsu poll.
News Report Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, has taken decision to contest the Ducsu election scheduled to be held on March 11. JCD on Saturday started form distribution for the upcoming Ducsu polls. A number of candidates collected nomination forms from BNP party office on Saturday.
The form will also be distributed today.
The final panel of JCD will be fixed from the interested candidates, sources said. Meanwhile, the ruling Awami League's student wing, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), is yet to announce its panel for the Ducsu elections.
It will finalise its panel by February 25. BCL central committee president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon came up with the information at Madhur Canteen on Saturday while talking to journalists.
'We have prepared a draft list for Chhatra League's own panel. It's almost done.
It will be finalized by February 25," said Shovon. He also said that the BCL will nominate the persons who are popular among the general students. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will finalise the vice- president and general secretary candidates for the elections, he added. Sources said that BCL central committee president Shovon, general secretary Golam Rabbani and DU unit general secretary Md Saddam Hussain could be nominated for the posts of vice-president, general secretary and assistant general secretary respectively The candidate will have to collect nomination papers by February 25 from the respective halls for Ducsu polls which is scheduled be held on March 11.
