JCCOM Enters U.S. Market With Five New Products at COMDEX.

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 17, 1997--Japan Computer & Communications Inc. (JCCOM), Torrance, Calif., made its debut at COMDEX, Booth No. M1373, by unveiling five new products targeted at some of the most popular U.S. computer peripherals market segments.

All products will be available through the reseller channel and are currently shipping.

The company's new JCD-62RW 6X-Read/2X-Write CD-ReWritable (CD-RW) drive can be used with CD-R and CD-RW media marketed by JCCOM and other well-known media manufacturers. The drive is ATAPI-compatible for greater efficiency than SCSI and includes a feature for fixing incomplete data or audio tracks on the fly. MSRP is $495.

The JCCOM Super TVGA 64-3D is an all-in-one 3D graphics card featuring 4 MB SGRAM, True MPEG, an onboard TV tuner and video capture that is video conference ready. The board comes with its own device driver as well as a color control utility for TV-like picture correction and an MPEG playback utility. The card can be used with Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT. MSRP is $249.

The multi-tasking 32X CD-ROM drive supports all the latest CD-ROM formats including Multi-read, Multisession Photo-CD, CD-Digital Audio, CD-XA, CD-I, CD-R, High Sierra, CDEXTRA, Enhanced CD, I-trax, Video CD/2.0 and CD-RW. Price is TBD.

With JCCOM's Video eMailer and MG-X520 Video Capture, anyone can send pictures and sound as easily as text in an e-mail message. video eMailer is easy to install and use, is fully Windows 95 Plug & Play compatible and provides excellent video and audio quality using hardware-assisted compression. video e-mail can be received and played with conventional e-mail software, and no additional software is required. MSRP for Video eMailer is $99.

The MediaSurf DSP 56Kbps X2 compatible internal data/fax modem is designed with the industry's latest modem technology and offers full plug 'n play windows 95 support, quick installation and ease of use at a very affordable price. At an MSRP of $99.95, the MediaSurf DSP 56 Kbps X2 modem is well-suited for both office and home use.
