JBU's Taylor sets new free throw record.
Ashley Taylor, a John Brown University women's basketball player, set a JBU record for free throws made in a single season after going 9 of 10 from the foul Line against Science & Arts of Oklahoma on Feb. 12.
The Bergman High School product tied Lisa Hunt's 1984-85 record of 131 made free throws at the 9:02 mark in the second half after sinking the back end of two from the charity stripe. With 3:53 left in the contest, Taylor surpassed Hunt's record after canning two more to bring the current record to 133 and counting.
The 5-foot-10 sophomore forward at mid-February was Leading John Brown with averages of 15.8 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game. She was also shooting more than 78 percent (133-of-170) from the foul line.
