JAZZ-FM 103.1 (KAJZ/KBJZ) NAMED OFFICIAL RADIO STATION FOR THE 15TH ANNUAL PLAYBOY JAZZ FESTIVAL

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Jazz-FM 103.1 has been named the official radio station for the 15th Annual Playboy Jazz Festival, presented in cooperation with the L.A. Philharmonic Association.
This will be the first year that the Los Angeles area's only commercial jazz radio broadcaster will participate in coverage of pre-festival free community events and the two-day 1993 Playboy Jazz Festival, June 12 and 13, at the world-famous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Jazz-FM 103.1's "Smooth and Relaxing" format of elegant and sophisticated jazz music offers a sound and delivers an audience that is harmonious with the Playboy Jazz Festival's live entertainment. As the official radio station, Jazz-FM 103.1 will feature festival artists' CDs and on-air interviews from the Feb. 25 news conference at the Playboy Mansion. The station will emcee and broadcast live from selected pre-festival free community events. Jazz-FM 103.1 will also conduct festival ticket giveaways and special on-air promotions in the weeks just prior to the festival. One lucky winner will receive a box of four seats to the Sunday show on June 13, including a photo opportunity and backstage access to meet one favorite artist performing that day. Jazz-FM 103.1 will provide coverage of selected pre-festival free community events and the two-day Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl.
As a salute to the 15th Annual Playboy Jazz Festival, the station will feature a preview of the artists performing this year at the Hollywood Bowl. This special program -- "Jazz-FM Playboy Jazz Festival Preview Show" hosted by China Smith -- will air 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25.
In addition to its extensive coverage on official radio station Jazz-FM 103.1, the 15th Annual Playboy Jazz Festival will cooperate with selected area public broadcasters with jazz programming and formats in fund-raising ticket giveaways.
The 1993 Playboy Jazz Festival and its associated free pre- festival community events series are a presentation of Playboy Jazz Festivals and are produced by Festival Productions Inc.
