             JAMES R. FLEMING NAMED TO TOP MARKETING POST
                   AT PAPER CORPORATION OF AMERICA
    VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- James R. Fleming has been named executive vice president-marketing for Paper Corporation of America, a nationwide distributor of printing papers and industrial products.
    In this newly created position, Fleming will manage national marketing programs for PCA's network of 20 operating companies throughout North America.
    Fleming, 51, will report to Raymond A. Peterson, president of PCA, and will serve on PCA's executive committee.
    "PCA's very purpose as a marketing company is to add value to the products we sell through our marketing programs," Peterson said.  "Jim's focus will be to provide continuity and efficiency to all our programs so that we can better serve our customers."
    All marketing functions, including printing papers, industrial products, national accounts, direct response and catalog sales, will report to Fleming.
    Fleming, who received his B.A. degree from Marquette University in 1963, began his career in the paper industry at Crown Zellerbach.  He joined Unisource, a PCA company headquartered in Long Beach, Calif., in 1985 as vice president-marketing, Industrial Products.  In his new role, Fleming will relocate to PCA headquarters in Valley Forge.
    Paper Corporation of America, an Alco Standard (NYSE: ASN) company, is one of the world's largest paper distributors, with annual sales of $3.6 billion.
    Alco Standard, also headquartered in Valley Forge, is a publicly held distribution and services company.  For its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1991, revenues were $4.8 billion.
