      JAMES E. MCERLANE ELECTED TO BOARD OF CHESTER VALLEY BANCORP
    DOWNINGTOWN, Pa., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors said it is pleased to announce the election of James E. McErlane as a new member of Chester Valley Bancorp's (NASDAQ: CVAL) board of directors.
    McErlane was elected to this position at the most recent Annual Meeting held in October of this year.
    McErlane is a life-long resident of Chester County.  A partner and member of the firm of Lamb, Windle & McErlane, he has focused his practice in business law, real estate, commercial, corporate and banking matters.  He has extensive experience on municipal and environmental matters and is former chairman of the Environmental Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He is counsel to First Financial Savings Bank, PaSA, Chester Valley's wholly owned subsidiary.  He is also local counsel to a major utility company and represents many growing businesses in the Delaware Valley, as well as real estate investors and lenders.
    McErlane did his undergraduate work at Villanova University and also received his law degree from Villanova.  He joined his current firm after serving in the United States Navy as a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps.  He is admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court, and is a member of the Chester County, Pennsylvania and American bar associations.
    His community involvement is extensive.  In addition to his having served as the first president of the Business & Industry Chamber for Chester County, McErlane is a board member of the Foundation at Paoli Memorial Hospital, as well as Leadership, Inc. and the Chester County Development Council.  McErlane was an organizer and director of Founders Bank, Bryn Mawr, Pa., from which he resigned immediately prior to his election to Chester Valley's board.
