 JAMAICA PLAIN MAN CHARGED WITH MAKING FALSE STATEMENTS
 TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
 BOSTON, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- A Jamaica Plain man was charged today with making false statements to the U.S. government.
 U.S. States Attorney A. John Pappalardo announced that the federal grand jury today returned a five-count indictment against Stephen Thomas Connolly, age 41, of 10 Park Lane, Jamaica Plain, Mass. The indictment charges that on five separate occasions in 1990 and 1991, Connolly filed with the federal Department of Labor disability claim forms containing false and fraudulent information.
 If convicted, Connolly faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine on each of the five counts in the indictment.
 The case is being investigated by inspectors from the Postal Inspectional Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Tuteur of Pappalardo's Major Crimes Division.
