JAKOB DYLAN Women + Country [...].

Byline: Paul Cole

JAKOB DYLAN Women + Country (Columbia) IF you're reminded of Robert Plant's Raising Sand outing with Alison Krauss, that's because the legendary T-Bone Burnett is at the production desk on both, and his trademark sound informs every song. Dylan Junior eschews Wallflowers rock'n'roll for a stripped back country roots set that ranges from the scratchy strum of They've Trapped Us Boys to the brassy Lend A Hand, which recalls Springsteen's Seeger sessions. Neko Case and Kelly Hogan provide subtle harmonies, notably during Down On Our Own Shield and the reverb dernched Holy Rollers For Love. PC
