JACOBS SELECTED BEST PROGRAM IN AIR FORCE SPACE COMMAND

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that Air Force Space Command selected the Vandenberg Air Force Base's (AFB) Installation Restoration Program (IRP) the best program in Air Force Space Command for fiscal years 1992 and 1993. Jacobs has been the primary environmental contractor on the program.
According to Gary Maher, Headquarters Air Force Space Command Director of Environmental Quality, the program was selected by the senior headquarters staff as Space Command's nominee for the upcoming Air Force wide IRP competition.
The project's success is due to execution of an aggressive Federal Facility Site Remediation Agreement (FFSRA) and has benefitted from an open and communicative relationship with the California regulatory agencies. The project previously received national recognition for the quality of the Management Action Plan (MAP) which was developed as an overall management tool for all environmental restoration and compliance activities at Vandenberg AFB, by both the Project Team and Air Force Headquarters.
"We are very pleased with this award and are looking forward to a long and productive role with the U.S. Air Force at Vandenberg," stated Noel G. Watson, Jacobs' president and chief executive officer. "We have been Vandenberg AFB's prime IRP contractor since 1992, conducting over $8 million in remedial investigations and feasibility studies delivery orders," Watson added.
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., headquartered in Pasadena, provides single-source consulting, engineering, design, architectural, environmental and hazardous waste management, procurement, construction, construction management, contract maintenance and operations services to government and industry worldwide.
