JACOBS RECEIVES MULTIMILLION DOLLAR

LAKELAND, Fla., Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received a multimillion dollar partnering alliance with Anchor Glass Container Corp. of Tampa, Fla.
The contract value was not disclosed.
Initial projects involve replacement of glass forming equipment and upgrade of auxiliary equipment and systems, and manufacturing plant structural modifications. Future projects will involve glass melting furnace rebuilds, including building modifications, piping and electrical changes, new structural steel, environmental control equipment and new refractory.
"The arrangement between Anchor Glass and Jacobs is a partnering alliance instead of a classic client/contractor relationship," stated Curtis Landry, vice president of Jacobs. "Jacobs has been asked to assist Anchor Glass with finding means to become more efficient and cost effective throughout their organization. The partnering arrangement will be beneficial to both of us in accomplishing that goal," Landry added.
Anchor Glass is a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Vitro S.A. of Monterrey, Mexico. Anchor glass is headquartered in Tampa, and operates 17 glass container manufacturing plants and two support facilities in the United States. Jacobs is pursuing partnering alliances with other clients in other industries (such as Syntex).
Jacobs Engineering Group, headquartered in Pasadena, Calif., provides single-source consulting, engineering, design, architectural, environmental and hazardous waste management, procurement, construction, construction management, contract maintenance and operations services to government and industry worldwide.
