JACOBS ENTERS INTO NATIONAL ALLIANCE WITH GENERAL CHEMICAL

 SOMERSET, N.J., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it has entered into a long-term national alliance with General Chemical. Under terms of this agreement Jacobs will furnish engineering services to General Chemical's plants throughout the United States and Canada.
 General Chemical, headquartered in Parsipanny, N.J., operates a world-scale soda ash mine/mill in Wyoming, numerous sulfuric acid/sulfur products plants, and a variety of fine and specialty chemical plants, all of which are covered by this relationship.
 General Chemical has already released work under this National Alliance Agreement.
 William R. Kerler, Jacobs Group vice president, commented that this new relationship with General Chemical is an important one to Jacobs. "The basis of our success over the years has been our ability to serve our clients from regional engineering offices which are close to client facilities. Our alliance with General Chemical is a fine example of our company's commitment to building quality- based relationships."
 General Chemical's need for fast response work across North America prompted the alliance.
 Jacobs Engineering Group, headquartered in Pasadena, Calif., provides single-source consulting, engineering, design, architectural, environmental and hazardous waste management, procurement, construction, construction management, contract maintenance and operations services to government and industry worldwide. Jacobs has 27 offices located throughout the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland, including Somerset, New Jersey.
