JACOBS ENGINEERING TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES TO THE SCOTTS COMPANY

 CINCINNATI, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that its Cincinnati office has been selected to provide engineering services for The Scotts Company Expansion Project in Marysville, Ohio.
 The contract value is estimated at $12 million.
 Jacobs will be responsible for detail engineering services for Scotts new Poly-S fertilizer facility. Poly-S is a patented encapsulated fertilizer product which provides a more consistent, controlled release rate.
 "The plant expansion is a continuous process comprised largely of solids conveying and material handling equipment designed to minimize particle degradation" stated John McLachlan, Group vice president of Jacobs. McLachlan added, "The plant will have a high degree of reliability due to use of state-of-the-art automation and statistical process control."
 The project is designed to allow new and improved products for both the Scotts Professional and Consumer Business Groups and is scheduled for completion in late 1994.
