 JACOBS AWARDED UNION CARBIDE CORP. ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT
 PASADENA, Calif., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today the receipt of a contract to provide engineering services for a major environmental project at Union Carbide Corp.'s (NYSE: UK) plant in Taft, La. The project is expected to cost $11 million.
 Work involves replacing open earthen emergency and equalization basins with closed tanks to store plant wastewater. The project is one of a series in the plant's overall environmental upgrade program, according to Jacobs' Group Vice President Alvin S. Rapp.
 New facilities to be completed include multiple wastewater storage tanks, pumps and piping systems, Rapp said. The project will be completed in late 1992.
 Jacobs is also preparing bid packages and specifications and evaluating bids and preparing requisitions for this project.
